Build Process
Before the Architectural Drawings begin, the Owner must have an accurate Budget in order to prepare the project Performance. Our experience enables us to produce precise estimates, schedules, alternate systems, and valuable engineering ideas prior to the release of the Architectural Drawings. Once the Budget is established, clear communication with the Owner and the Design Team during preperation of the working drawings will ensure the project goals are reached. Our Design Build Services ensure a Solid Foundation and should be on the Critical Path of all your future projects.

Retail construction has been a building block for Kevin D. Harper since graduation from Auburn University in Building Science. Our Retail experience includes many jobs with national retailers such as Kmart, Walmart, Winn Dixie, Target, Food Lion, Grand Union Grocery, Bealls, Cato, Blockbuster, Hibbet’s Sports, Friedmans, Dominoes and Walgreens along with many other national tenants.

Preconstruction
Our Preconstruction Services Ensure All Project Goals will be achieved by walking hand in hand with our Clients from the Conception of a project through the Certificate of Occupancy. The services include Site Selection, Feasibility Analysis, Selection of the Design Team (Civil Engineer, Soils Engineer, Architect, Structural Engineer & PME Engineers), Coordination with the Design Team, Critical Path Scheduling and Project Delivery.

Having built many houses previously, I had certain requirements and qualifications in mind – quality, experience, cost, Owner/Builder compatibility and the relationship the builder had with local subcontractors and suppliers. I was introduced to Kevin Harper of Auburn Builders by the owner of a local lumber provider, with very high recommendations. We met and discussed the project and our respective needs, and Kevin and I quickly developed a good communication back and forth, so we progressed to the contract stage. The contract was not onerous as some are, and Kevin exhibited his willingness to accommodate all of my requirements and then some. Auburn’s fee structure was reasonable and we were able to agree on some Owner furnished items without a fee. All things considered, the experience was exceptionally good, the quality was unusually high and the cost was well below that of other builders. In this time of demand and exceeding supply in the contractor market along the N.W. Florida area, I would not hesitate to employ Auburn Builders and Kevin Harper on my next building project. I would enjoy speaking with any person contemplating a build about my experience.

Auburn Builders owner, Kevin Harper, did an outstanding job building our Condo in Destin, Florida several years ago. Our place is a single living detached condo with 4 bedrooms.
Although he had to follow strict regulations for the outside he was very creative with ideas for the inside. He was great staying in our budget and keeping us advised with pictures, phone calls, etc. since this was a long-distance project. If you are considering building a home in Destin, Florida …give him a call. You won’t be sorry!
